Look forward to a hike in the south western part of Fuerteventura and discover Las Peñitas Ravine close to Ajuy and the chapel. Ascend the ravine to see the place where the Virgen de la Peña, the patron saint of Fuerteventura, appeared. The figure of Holy Mary can still be found in a small chapel. Enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the entire valley far away from tourist crowds. If you're lucky, get the chance to see wild goats and birds of prey.
Drive 5 kilometres to the fishing village of Ajuy to start the second part of your hike. Discover the amazing coastal section that is not only a natural monument but also the oldest part of the island. Hike along the rugged coastline to a secluded black beach with a giant monolith with a big hole in the middle. Listen to the legend about this mystic place within a nature unspoiled.
Head back to the village of Ajuy and enjoy traditional tapas and wine at a small restaurant. Complete the day in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere before returning to your hotel.
